Viewed through various bits of railway clutter, a Metro-Cammell Class 101 set with E50235 leading passes Gilberdyke junction on it's way to Hull on 5th April 1983. The semaphore arms were at this time located on short posts at the end of the Gilberdyke up platform. These signalled trains travelling along the up relief line and were replaced with more conventional signals when the quadruple lines were removed in the late 1980s. Syd Young.

A Metro-Cammell 2-car set with E78959 leading passes major rebuilding work at Gilberdyke on the evening of 7th April 1988. This was a 2-car set which originally had four engines, now reduced to two. The quadruple track from Gilberdyke Junction to Melton Lane had been reduced to two running lines and the stations along the line were being shaped to fit. At both here and Broomfleet new platforms were being built over the old relief lines. Syd Young.

Taken near Gilberdyke from a DMU heading for Hull, the Eastern Region general manager's inspection saloon "The Stourton Saloon" headed by DB975637 with DB975664 behind passes the other way on 18/Jun/1988. These two vehicles were converted from Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Co. class 100 DMUs 56300 (DTCL) and 51122 (DMBS) respectively. They were taken into departmental stock in 1978 and withdrawn in 1990, being scrapped at Snailwell in Cambridgeshire. Robert Chilton.
