Vehicle: 55011
On a rainy day at Kilmarnock Class 122 55011 runs into the bay platform, probably on a service from (or to form a service to) Ayr. Already in the platform is 55000, still with a W prefix. There's no yellow on the cab side, so it's carrying blue livery with small yellow panel. Circa 1969. Stuart Rankin.

Vehicle: 53242 Set: 101364
The old & the new at Kilmarnock Open Day on 11-09-88. Classic dmu traction (101364 53242 and presumably 59080 + 53268) alongside to date the only visit of a class 318 emu (from the neighbouring Ayr - Glasgow line) to Kilmarnock station. However these emus were all refurbished in 2005 - 06 in the nearby Barclay works. Gordon Thomson.
Vehicle: 51988 Set: 107728
107728 (presumably 51988 + 59786 + 52013) departing Kilmarnock with the 12:54 to Glasgow Central, 22-08-89. Classic d.m.u. traction for the Killie - Glasgow service, not long before the Sprinters took over. The line from here to Barrhead (with a loop at Lugton) was stupidly singled in 1974. It was re-doubled between Stewarton and Lugton in 2008 / 09 and now a half hourly service to operates from Kilmarnock to Glasgow. The former line to Dalry passed under the bridge on the left. Gordon Thomson.
Vehicle: 53686 Set: 534
120534 at Kilmarnock on 12-05-1989. This was not long before the introduction of class 156 'Sprinters' when just about any type of unit could be found on Strathclyde services. The class 120s were superior to most it has to be said. Pity none were preserved. Gordon Thomson.
Vehicle: 53732 Set: 534
120534 about to depart Kilmarnock for Glasgow Central on May 12th, 1989. This was not long before the introduction of class 156 'Sprinters' when just about any type of unit could be found on Strathclyde services. The class 120s were superior to most it has to be said. Pity none were preserved. Gordon Thomson.
Vehicle: 53845
A Class 116 dmu sits in the bay platform at Kilmarnock on 30-08-1986. 47565 is entering with a Carlisle - Glasgow service. A few years later both trains would be Class 156 Sprinters. The lack of set number on the 116 and distinct chip on the cabside means the DMBS is probably 53845. Gordon Thomson.
