M55994 propels a GUV through the remains of Manchester Exchange on the 19th Feb 1984. This was a Red Bank to Piccadilly working and the MPMV's would have had to reverse to get to the south side of Manchester at Ordsall - before the Windsor link had been completed. Paul Moxon.

Two Birmingham RC&W Co. 3-car Local Passenger dmu's (Class 104) with the trailing unit being Nos.M50523 (Class 104/1), M59149 (169), M50443 (104/2) of the 1957 batch in BR Rail Blue livery with all yellow front end and white stripe (which signified a set with modified suspension specifically allocated to Blackpool services) passing Manchester (Exchange) - with the much loved but now closed Boddington's Brewery in the background - on a Manchester (Victoria) - Bolton - Blackpool service, 08/82.
