A recently transferred Network South East Metro-Cammell Class 101 unit (L224 led by 51445) is at the head of a Norwich to Sheringham service collecting the token at Wroxham, August 4, 1990. Mike Dean.
The Wroxham signal man is just walking back into his box after giving the driver of this Sherringham bound 1958 built Metro-Cammel class 101 dmu the single line token to North Walsham. 8th August 1984. Today this is known as Hoveton & Wroxham station and the line is marketed as the 'Bittern Line' and the narrow gauge Bure Valley Railway now has it's terminus behind the signal box. It is an early version of rail blue livery (3" numbers and the BR logo on the cab door), paired with a DTC in green, as is the power car in the second set. The leading Brush loco on the left is noted as D5569, this train is coming off the former line to County School, by this time used to access the concrete works at Lenwade.
