Class 103 Park Royal 2-car DMU 50395 + 56165 boarded up and ready for the scrap man, Tyseley 27-5-83. On the left is Class 116 TC 59028, and the boarded up refurbished car at the far end is also probably a Class 116. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
The 2.30pm Wolverhampton High Level - Lichfield - Burton-on-Trent service is seen east of Hammerwich on 25 July 1964. The Park Royal twin with M50396 closest appears to have been recently repainted. Michael Mensing.

Scrapper. Park Royal Class 103 DMBS M50399 languishes in sidings (on the Up side) to the north of Carlisle Kingmoor Depot. Boarded up, it awaits a final trip for scrap. Surprisingly, the underframe equipment seems relatively intact and an engine is visible on this side. Hopefully the shunters will take notice of the lack of a hand brake! BR ran a series of 'Rail-Cruises' over the freight only Churnet Valley lines during the early 1980s - the line is now in the hands of the Churnet Valley Railway and sees use between Leekbrook and Kingsley. BR ran a series of 'Rail-Cruises' over the freight only Churnet Valley lines during the early 1980s - the line is now in the hands of the Churnet Valley Railway, though here the CVR is still fenced-off from the 'main line' which was still in use for sand trains from Oakamoor (note the sand between the tracks which was in evidence from Oakamoor to Stoke's Cockshute yard!).
