Five years after the closure of the Woodhead route, Class 108/101 hybrid DMU on a Huddersfield-Sheffield service leaves Penistone station and trundles across what remains of Huddersfield Junction. Despite the display on the destination blind, Class 108 Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) M53926 was leading a four-car Preston to Ormskirk service, departing from Croston on January 25th 1986. The rear set was a BRCW Class 104. Martyn Hilbert.

With the 309ft high spire of St Walburges Church as a backdrop, a six-car lash-up of Derby Class 108 DMU's were stabled in Croft Street Sidings, adjacent to the Preston PSB and Fylde Junction on February 22nd 1986. The nearest set was formed of cars 53968 & 54251 which at the time were allocated to Carlisle Kingmoor Depot. Martyn Hilbert.

With Disley showing on the blind, Buxton based Derby class 108 dmu BX496 with it's BRC&W center car (M51947 + M59155 + M52062) slows for the Chapel-en-le-Frith stop on 23rd February 1986.
