July 1983
In 1983 I went on a tour of all the mainline railways of Wales. Towards the end of the trip we found ourselves on the borders at Shrewsbury, and I took the opportunity of capturing this view of the southern end of the station when climbing the castle walls. In view is the impressive LNWR Seven Bridge Junction signal box and, stabled in the sidings, a Class 25 and a pair of 2-car DMU sets - Class 108 and Class 101. Chris McKee.

A 2-car Class 108 DMU which I had photographed earlier in the day at Springs Branch, is now pictured at Wigan North Western on its return journey, the 11.35 Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street.
