Swindon built diesels on display. A Cross-Country DMU, behind it another DMU car then a GWR railcar, and a Warship diesel hydraulic locomotive are seen at their birthplace. This negative had a date of 18 March 1960 on the sleeve but the condition of the three-car suggests earlier, possibly 1958. Stuart Mackay Collection.

The 3.30pm Oxford - Birmingham Snow Hill is seen as Acocks Green on the 13th April 1961. This is one of the third and final batches of Swindon Cross-Country sets, which comprised just nine sets all delivered in 1961. Note that the formation contains two DMBC vehicles. Michael Mensing.

A Swindon Cross-Country DMU is seen arriving into Worcester Shrub Hill station with a Ledbury service on 2 September 1961. Despite the vehicle being less that a year old, the paint seems to be peeling off around the headcode box. Michael Mensing.
