Stripped of it's engines and with all windows boarded up due to asbestos contamination Class 126 DMBS SC51042 lies dumped in Falkland Yard, Ayr on the 21st May 1983. Withdrawn in August 1982 having spent all it's working life at Ayr MPD there was just one more journey to make...to the firing tunnel at Snailwell Yard, Suffolk where she perished during November 1983. SPS Railtour. Derby DMU (107 434 with Metro Cammell DMS trailing) departs Largs for Glasgow Central from Platform 2. Swindon DMBSL Sc51043 heads up the six car Ayrshire Wanderer (126 413 + 126 406) in Platform 1. The two Swindon sets are having a rest after a shunt from Platform 3 whilst the patrons enjoy lunch in Largs!
