A Derby Lightweight DMU seen in Grantham station. Closest is DMBS E79031 with Cleethorpes on the destination blind, its partner is presumably E79623. The date is unknown, but likely 1956. The pair were delivered to Lincoln depot in May 1955 but went on loan to Bradford Hammerton Street soon after, remaining there most of the rest of the year. They spent 1956 back at Lincoln, then moved on to Gorton in April 1957. Mel Smith.

Derby Lightweight power car E79035 in display outside the Royal Festival Hall in London for the Aluminium Centenary Exhibition. To the right is a London Underground vehicle. The lack of flags on the flagpoles and scaffolding around the large signage suggests this was before the opening of the exhibition on the 1st June 1955. Stuart Mackay Collection.
