(a) H.P. requirements. Mr.Langridge was asked to press for an early decision from Messrs, Cravens and Rolls Royce.
4. Birmingham Part 2. Final report well in hand and expected to be ready shortly.
5. Manchester Part 2. Final report well in hand but number of units likely to be required still under examination. C.M.& E.E's. observations regarding diesel parcels vans and gradient between Oldham and Middleton Junction noted, and will be borne in mind in preparation of final report.
451 SCHEMES ALREADY IN OPERATION.
1. West Cumberland.
(a) Traffic receipts to 30.4.56 shown on Appendix "A" attached.
(b) Number of units required to operate scheme. Mr. Adkinson said that owing to increased traffic and difficulty of maintaining the units, it was necessary to increase the number of units allocated to the scheme. The present allocation is 15 units and one further unit is necessary, and Messrs.Gould and Adkinson will submit recommendation.
2. Watford - St.Albans scheme.
(a) Traffic receipts to 30.4.56 shown on Appendix "A" attached.
(b) Joint report on working of the branch expected to be ready shortly.
(c) Halt at Garston Lane. Still under consideration.
3. Bury - Bacup scheme.
(a) Traffic receipts to 30.4.56 shown on Appendix "A" attached.
(b) Report on satisfactory working on this scheme since introduction on February 6th noted. Report in justification of additional unit required for this service will be submitted shortly.
4. Birmingham Part 1.
(a) Traffic receipts to 30.4.56 shown on Appendix "A" attached.
(b) Report on satisfactory working of this scheme since introduction on the 5th March noted. Position regarding number and type of units required on a permanent basis under review and report will be submitted shortly.
