BR 639 (DMBS), BR 647 (TSL) and BR 649 (DMCL)
These replaced diagrams in 1980. DQ 211 (DMBS), DT 204 (TSL) and DP 215 (DMCL)
Many earlier DMU types had a booklet from the 33003 series issued specifically for them, none have been found for these vehicles.
This March 1961 editon covered all Blue Square vehicles - BR 33003-92. A companion to this was a "Preparation and Disposal" booklet BR 33003/211.
In 1968 the booklets were replaced by a three part set for Blue Square vehicles Mechanical Transmission):
BR 33003/247 1 - General Data And Equipment
BR 33003/248 2 - Driving Instructions Including Standard Preparation and Disposal Duties
BR 33003/249 3 - Fault Finding Data and Charts
In the early seventies the 33003 series was replaced by the more generic 33056 series of drivers manuals, no longer specific to any coupling code.
Photographed as part of the Derby Works collection circa December 1960.
These were taken in three or possibly more sessions. The majority of the interior shots - 60/818 to 60/835 - seem to have been taken on the same occasion and with what can be seen through the windows suggests at Derby Works. The cab images in this session are the only vehicles that can be identified for sure (51985 + 52011), and are from the first set completed so it is assumed the centre car images are of 59782.
The final interior image - 60/836 - is taken at a different location - there is a snow covered platform on the right, so was probably a different set. The exterior image is of the fourth set, they possibly had to wait until the snow had cleared up for the exterior view?
The first two images are anomolies in that the negative numbers are about 250 images earlier, but can't be any earlier than the first set! Their placement in the album that held them were on either side of the last interior image 60/836.
Negative N 60/548
The AWS equipment (and the container for the flag and detonators) on a cab bulkhead.
Negative 60/825
The (non-toilet) inner-end of a TSL (presumably 59782). The wooden box houses the two controls for the heaters. Through the window in the sliding door can be seen the vinyl sheets that protects people passing though the gangway.
Negative 60/826
An end saloon (non-toilet end) of a TSL (presumably 59782) looking through to the DMBC.
Negative 60/828
The centre saloon of a centre car (presumably 59782) looking towards the toilet end. The cage in the guards van of the adjacent DMBS can be seen.
Negative 60/829
The interior of a centre car (thought to be 59782), taken from the toilet end of the vehicle.
