I took The Lakelander special from London Euston to Carnforth where steam took over from electric. While waiting for our stock to be brought in to the Furness platform by double-headed LNER A1 4-6-2 4472 Flying Scotsman & LNWR Hardwicke this Class 108 dmu on a service train to Carlisle via Barrow-in-Furness arrived. Class 108 DMBS in Scarborough station, the NE prefix and 3" numbers suggests late 1960s. It is paired with a Class 101 DMSL, behind is a Class 104 with another to the left. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A Class 108 DMU with vehicles M53927 + M54214 seems to be at the end of a long formation seen in Derby station on Wednesday 25 June 1986. They were allocated to Chester at the time. David Russon.
