Look, no wires. Metro Cammell 101 324 sitting at Haymarket, Platform 1, with an eastbound service for Edinburgh Waverley. The original Haymarket train shed to centre left has been dismantled and part was preserved on the B&KR at Bo'ness. An approaching Type 2 in the distance may be heading for the nearby Haymarket Depot. Circa July 1983. alicia hartman.
Set 101 324 is seen in Cowdenbeath station on the 23rd April 1984 after arriving with the 11:08 from Edinburgh. Hamish Stevenson.
Met-Camm set 101324 (presumably 51253 closest) passes through Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh during 1985. Walter Burt.
101324 arriving at Stirling on August 1st, 1985, with a Glasgow train - while 101330 looks to be in trouble on the bay track - the crew are out investigating. David Christie.
101324 stands at Stirling formed DMS 53245 (nearest) with TBS 59112 and DMBS 51253 (curiously containing two brake vans!) on 29/Mar/1986. I could not find any record of 53245 listed in 101324 in contemporary set lists although 51253 was, so maintenance requirements or failures might have caused reformations, which might also account for the two brake vans in the set. Another three car set listed had no brake van at all so both may have been temporary formations. Robert Chilton.
Set 101 324 in Glasgow Queen Street in September 1986. First two vehicles are 51253 and 59047. Andrew McConnell.
Class 101 set 101324 (53746 and presumably 59304 + 51253) in the sidings at Haymarket depot circa 1987. S Saunders.
53746 at the front of set 101324 on Haymarket depot circa 1987. S Saunders.
Multiple Met-Camms - Haymarket circa summer 1988. Left to right a set heads away on the Fife lines, what is thought to be 101324 is about to arrive into the station, and two sets are stabled on the depot. Brian Ward.
Set 101 324 (53746/59303/51253) comes off the Forth Bridge and into North Queensferry station, forming the 16.00 Edinburgh - Cowdenbeath, on 9/4/88. Leonard Rogers.
101324 (presumably 53746 + 59304 + 51253) is seen at Croy with the 14.37 Glasgow Queen Street - Dunblane train on 20-06-1988. Gordon Thomson.
DMU approaching Dalmeny. Met Camm triple 101324 (51253 + 59304 + 53746) approach Dalmeny in July 1988 with a service for Fife. The line from Winchburgh Junction is seen trailing in on the right under the A90 road bridge. Murray Liston.

On July 15th 1989 3-car Metro-Cammell class 101 DMU set no.101 324 (51253+59304+53746) is seen crossing St.Leonards Junction at Perth with train 1L31 the 16.03 Glasgow Queen Street to Arbroath. This train had been a class 47 diagram until the start of the 1989 summer timetable on the 15th May 1989 but had subsequently swapped to a long distance DMU working. Adrian Nicholls.
A westbound class 101 on an empty stock working is seen at Peffermill on the Edinburgh "Sub" around 15.30 on 16/9/89. The unit is probably 101 324, formed of 51253, 59304 and 53746. At this time the south tunnel at Haymarket was closed for electrification works and trains were being diverted over the "Sub" (formally The Edinburgh Suburban and South Side Junction Railway!). Leonard Rogers.
