Sc51250 at Kirkcaldy. Phil Bidwell.
One of the Class 101 Metro-Cammell sets that usurped the Pressed Steel monopoly on the Paddington local services in the 1980s. The unit (set L201, presumably 54070 + 51212) is seen outside the old carriage sheds at Old Oak Common, alongside one of the local Class 121 Pressed Steel 'Bubble Cars' W55023. Chris McKee.
Class 101 54070, set number 201, is seen at Tyseley on 07.02.1988. Andy Cole.
Blue and Grey liveried with a small NSE 'flash' on the front, two car Met-Camm 101 Set 201; 54070 and 51212. Arriving in Henley-on-Thames station on 28 May 1988. Alistair Fyffe.
The front end of blue and grey two car Met-Camm class 101 set 201 (54070 + 51212) wasn't in the best of condition with several rusty patches showing when it was photographed just after leaving Kings Sutton station on 14 June 1988 while working an afternoon Oxford to Banbury local service. Within a few months it was repainted into full NSE livery and received an "L" prefix to the set number in line with other units operated by NSE. Peter Tandy.
