Trainspotting 101: The Metro-Cammell Diesel Multiple Unit. A (near) clean sweep for the ubiquitous Class 101 units at Haymarket c 1987. Set 356 has a 110 centre car (59696) and the nearest unit on shed seems to have borrowed Class 107 centre car. Andrew McConnell.
Set 356 heading out of Glasgow Central circa late 1980s. Formed of two Class 101 DMBSs and Class 110 centre car 59696, the furthest DMBS is probably the permanent DMBS 53253, the closest a temporary replacement and probably 51210. Andrew McConnell.
Hybrid Class 101 DMU set 356 (51210 thought to be closest) in Shotts station circa summer 1989. Brian Ward.

A hybrid Haymarket 3xx set 3-car set with two Class 101 DMBSs and a Class 110 centre car. Seen circa summer 1989 about 1/2 mile east of Hartwood, heading towards Shotts. The HA castles on the power car seems to have been unique to set 356 (they were normally on the centre car) so this would make the vehicles 53253 + 59696 and presumably 51210. Andrew McConnell.
Caught at Blake Street, when the Birmingham Cross City line was running absolutely anything to keep the service running. Got off this to await another unit back to town. Aaron Oxford.
