Metro-Cammell set 390 at Settle Station, May 6th 1989. Closest is 53250, not officially transferred from Haymarket to Leeds until May 14th. David Christie.

Class 101 DMU at Skipton

6th May 1989

Class 101 Driving Motor Brake Second E53250 was bringing up the rear of a six-car Leeds to Morecambe service at Skipton on May 6th 1989. E53250 was coupled to Class 108 Driving Car E53644. The middle set being a Class 108 with the retro BR green liveried Class 108 53964/54247 at the front of the train. On the extreme left, Class 144 144003 was awaiting departure with a service to Leeds. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 101 53250 still carries ScR set 390, it is now a NL vehicle, when working a 10XX Oxenholme Lake District - Windermere awaiting departure at Oxenholme Lake District on Wednesday 24th May 1989. Colin Brooks.

Class 101 DMU at Baron Wood, Settle and Carlisle Line

2nd August 1989

A six-car DMU formation heading south on the Settle and Carlisle line at Baron Wood, north of Lazonby & Kirkoswald, on 2 August 1989. Closest is a Class 101/108 hybrid, 53250 and presumably 53644, working with two Met-Camm twins. The River Eden can be seen on the left. Stuart Mackay Collection.
