Class 105 DMU at Glasgow Central

6th June 1972

Class 105 Glasgow Central 6 June 1972. I liked this spartan style of early blue paint which was a more matt shade and with a half end yellow warning panel. Not many of the Scottish Region units allocated to Hamilton Depot were painted like this as most went from green livery to the darker shade of blue with full yellow ends. It is carrying set number 45 on the yellow panel. Alistair Ness.

Class 100 DMU at Peterborough

3rd August 1976

E56100, at Peterborough on 3/8/76 apparently heading for Norwich. Signs in the cab windows proclaim it's set 45 (the other vehicle appears to be a Cravens). David Underwood adds: "'4 WED' in the windscreen reflects the method by which Norwich Depot advised when the unit was next due for maintenance at Norwich, i.e. the unit had to be placed on a diagram that finished at Norwich on that day." Ian Francis.

Class 105 DMU at Ely

Unknown date

Two Cravens DMUs (set 45 closest) depart from Ely with a Cambridge service. Date unknown, circa mid-1970s. On the right is a Class 08. The sidings contain an intermediate E&G Swindon power car - it and possibly the unidentified row of blue/grey vehicles are en-route to disposal at Snailwell. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 105 DMU at Sheringham

16th August 1986

Norwich allocated Cravens class 105 dmu E53365 is seen right up at the blocks at Sheringham, about to form a Norwich service, on what is now know as the "Bittern Line", on 16th August 1986. The scene here has changed, and for the good for once, after a period of 36 years the link to the North Norfolk Rly, over the road was reinstated on the 11th March 2010, so trains can now pass right through this scene. Andrew J Crowther.
