I photographed this Diesel Parcels Unit, carrying the set number 911, at Northampton in October 1986. The set is made up of vehicles 55981/55971, converted from Class 127 cars 51612/51597. Both vehicles had been new in August 1959 and were converted to DPUs in May 1985. The unit was withdrawn from service in May 1989 and both vehicles were scrapped by Mayer Newman at Snailwell.
