Class 117 and 101 DMU's at Moor street on the 22nd November 1975. The 117 appears to be L424 making the DMBS closest 51373. The mk11 and mk1 coaches were part of an exhibition train as l remember. Inside were examples of the latest upgrades to track, signaling etc via films and photographs. 54A South Dock.

Southall Depot on 11 January 1979 contains a bubble car, Class 128 and numerous 117s. The one on the right seems to be set L424 presumably W51404, the way the light is catching all the commode handles gives the impression it is in blue/grey livery. Brian Daniels.

Class 117 dmus were the backbone of local services out of London Paddington for many years following construction by Pressed Steel in Linwood, Scotland in 1959-61. This three-coach train (presumably 51362 and presumably 59514 + 51404) is passing the prefabricated delight of Slough signal box on August 11, 1984. Jeremy Chapter.

Class 117 DMU sets L424 (51404 + 59514 + 51362) & L412 are seen on the quayside in Kings Lynn Bentinck Dock on July 12, 1986. They were working the Hertfordshire Railtours 'Fen Tiger' railtour. It visited such delights as Wisbech, Middleton Towers, South Lynn Sidings, the Grain Terminal on the Kings Lynn Harbour branch and of course Kings Lynn Docks as seen here. Adrian Nicholls.

At Acton on 19 September 1989 class 117 L424 (51362 + 59514 + 51404) passes with a Paddington to Reading local service. This wasn't the nicest place to stand with 4 very busy lanes of traffic behind the camera and probably isn't somewhere I'd go in 2023 given the OHLE catenary and less than riveting traction using the lines.
