Southall Depot on 11 January 1979 contains a bubble car, Class 128 and numerous 117s. The one on the right seems to be set L424 presumably W51404, the way the light is catching all the commode handles gives the impression it is in blue/grey livery. Brian Daniels.

Class 117 DMU sets L424 (51404 + 59514 + 51362) & L412 are seen on the quayside in Kings Lynn Bentinck Dock on July 12, 1986. They were working the Hertfordshire Railtours 'Fen Tiger' railtour. It visited such delights as Wisbeach, Middleton Towers, South Lynn Sidings, the Grain Terminal on the Kings Lynn Harbour branch and of course Kings Lynn Docks as seen here. Adrian Nicholls.

Class 117 DMU sets L424 (51404 + 59514 + 51362) and L412 (presumably 51347 + 59499 + 51389) are on the Fen Tiger Railtour run jointly by Hertfordshire Railtours and the South Electric Group. The tour set out from Reading and travelled via Victoria, Kensington, the North London Line, Stratford, Finsbury Park and Peterborough. It went on to Kings Lynn and then back via Cambridge, Stratford, the North London line and Victoria. The KDH Archive.

This wasn't the nicest place to stand with 4 very busy lanes of traffic behind the camera and probably isn't somewhere I'd go in 2023 given the OHLE catenary and less than riveting traction using the lines.
