Class 116 set N657 (presumably 53901 + 53848) arriving into Hindley in April 1988. Colin Brooks.

Having collected the single line token from the signal box at nearby Midge Hall, a Class 101 two-car DMU formed of cars M51523 & M53219 (N657) was gaining momentum as it was passing Pages Crossing at Ulnes Walton whilst en-route to its next station call at Croston with a Preston to Ormskirk service on April 29th 1989.
