"The biggest unstaffed halt in Britain" Snow Hill in 1972 was a massive car park, the only piece of railway was the remnant Birmingham - Wolverhampton service. Here in February '72 Class 122 Gloucester R.C & W built single car unit (set TY055, presumably M55010) waits to depart for Wolverhampton Low Level. Geoff Dowling.

Class 122 DMU at Birmingham Snow Hill

February 1975

A lone Class 122 (set TY055, presumably M55010) is about to leave Birmingham Snow Hill in February 1972. At this time Snow Hill was a gigantic car park with just this one bay operating an infrequent service to Wolverhampton Low Level. The route is fairly similar to that taken by the Midland Metro, the Wolverhampton end is now street running to a new terminus at St Georges. Geoff Dowling.

Class 122 DMU at Wolverhampton Low Level

Unknown date

A GRC&W single car DMU in Wolverhampton Low Level station in the early 1970s. The set number TY055 in the cab window means it should be M55010. Graham Clark.
