19/04/59 - The six 2-car sets stored at Warwick shed (50947-52) were noted passing through Coventry on 19/04/59 hauled by 43005 in the Nuneaton direction, heading for Stoke. They were to have travelled under their own power, but had flat batteries after months of storage.

Two 2-car Class 108 units, with possibly 53951 nearest the camera, are seen in platform 3. These units had for may years worked in Cumbria, mainly on the West Cumbrian coast route to Barrow / Lancaster, but 1991 was to be their final year of operation, being replaced in November of that year with then newly-converted Class 153 single cars. A Derby Class 108 two-car DMU formed of cars M54235 & M53951 was stood at Morecambe Promenade with the Morecambe to Lancaster shuttle service on March 27th 1992. The once busy and extensive former Midland Railway sea-front terminus closed on February 7th 1994. Martyn Hilbert.
