A Class 108 DMU coming off the junction at Poulton-le-Fylde for Fleetwood circa May 1970. Carrying set number AC353 the DMBS is M50982 and the DTCL is presumably M56265. Adrian Sutterby Collection.
A dmu at Poulton-le-Fylde waiting to depart for Fleetwood on the the last day of passenger services between Poulton and Fleetwood, Saturday 30 May 1970. The sign in the left cab window indicates the Class 108 is Accrington allocated set 353 (DMBS M50982 and the DTCL is presumably M56265). Ian 10B Collection.
Fleetwood railway station on the last day of passenger services. Saturday 30 May 1970. Class 108 DMU set AC353 forms the second to last train waiting to depart for Poulton-le-Fylde. The DMBS is M50982, the DTCL is presumably M56265. Ian 10B Collection.
A two-car Class 108 DMU, formed of cars M56265 (Complete with its First Class saloon) & DMBS M50982, were arriving at Croston with a Preston to Ormskirk service on September 16th 1977. The station still retained its LMS concrete platform lamps, and the former Down platform is visible on the left, including the holes and the patch in the stonework of the bridge, where steps once connected Station Road to the platform, a legacy from the days when this was a double track main line from Preston to Liverpool Exchange. Martyn Hilbert.

A train formed of at least 7 cars, formed of a pair of Class 108 2 car DMUs, M56265 leading, with at least a 3 car Class 101 on the rear, enters Carlisle Station from the north, 6th September 1980. From the looks of the stickers on the first unit, it may have been forming a special train. Paul James.
There was a series of special trains on Saturday 20 October 1990 operating in connection with a Network North-West day sponsored by Motive Power Monthly Power Monthly magazine. It was a good opportunity to photograph some odd workings, including a class 26 + 31 combination, so unusually for me I had a ride around on a discounted ticket. One of the special trains visited Barrow in Furness where this photograph of the "Auto Gear" class 108 (54265 + 53954) was taken passing the impressive North signalbox with a terminating service. Peter Tandy.
Auto Gear fitted Class 108 DMU (presumably 54265 is closest, the DMBS is 53954) at the old Morecambe station with a service to Heysham Harbour, circa 1991. Spannerman37025.
A two-car Class 108 DMU in Fleetwood station with a service to Poulton. DMBS M50982 is closest with an Accrington set number (AC353) in the left cab window. It is presumably running with M56265 - its original partner which it seemed to retain until the start of the 1980s. Date unknown - the set was used on the last day of services (30 May 1970) and other images on this website of these have it in similar condition so on that day or soon before. Adrian Sutterby Collection.

The Morecambe shuttle at Lancaster with E56088 + E50207. It had worked from Morecambe with M56265 + M50982 which were going to work the next Barrow service. 12th August 1977. Robert Frise.
In Rail Blue livery and complete with its tail lamp, a Class 108 two-car DMU formed of cars M56265 & M50982 was departing from Croston with a Preston to Ormskirk service on September 16th 1977. The station still had its LMS concrete post lamps with tin shades and bare blubs. In the distance the loading gauge was still in-situ at the entrance to the trackless former goods yard. Ahead of the DMU the single track of this former main line is visible regaining its alignment along the former Down Line. When the route was downgraded and singled circa 1970, the track was slewed across to the Up Side at Croston to serve the single remaining operational platform. Martyn Hilbert.
