A Derby Heavyweight DMU with E56033 closest (and presumably E50033) on Stratford Works circa 1957. Stuart Mackay Collection.
E50033 (and presumably E56033) appears to be brand new when seen at Stratford, judging by the condition of the buffers, lack of blinds, and Leyland 680 engines. Date unknown, they were delivered in February 1957. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Plain blue E50010 is partnered with refurbished E56033, sitting next to blue grey E56015 at Sheffield Midland on 08-03-82. The HST is 43168, Cravens 56472 is on the right. Vincent Haworth.
For a time in around 1982 the 17.10 Cambridge - Peterborough local was booked for a Lincoln based dmu set, rather than a Norwich one. Here a hybrid liveried Lincoln Class 114 set with E50010 nearest the camera trailing and E56033 passes Norwood Road on its way to Whittlesea and Peterborough on a rather overcast 17th May 1982. On Sunday 29th November 1987 Lincoln Based Class 114 Diesel Parcels units (closest are probably 53024 (oval buffers) + 54033) are seen departing from Ipswich Station. Why? We had no duties for Parcels Units from Lincoln into Ipswich and certainly no Parcels units diagrammed to visit Ipswich on a Sunday. AndrewHA.
