Heading down the gradient between Disley and Middlewood on 6th May 1989 is a BRC&W Newton Heath allocated 3 car set N669 (53528, 59187, 53454), with the 104 DMUPG "Buxton 104 Farewell" on a special Buxton-Manchester Piccadilly non stop run. By this time the 104's had been displaced by 108's which in turn were being displaced by the new Sprinters, so this might well have been the last visit of a 104 to Buxton.
