The staff of the 1.25pm to Derby have a chit chat at the cab of M50528 before departure from platform 8 of Birmingham New Street on the 5th May 1962. Michael Mensing.
Whilst alighted passengers make their way down the platform, the crew have a conversation in the cab of Class 104 Driving Motor Composite M50528 whilst it was stood at Bolton leading a six-car Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service on June 23rd 1979. This was very much a routine daily sight along this busy route in the 1970's, with the BRCW Class 104's working most services to and from the Fylde Coast. Martyn Hilbert.
A BRCW Class 104 two-car DMU formed of cars M50528 & M50454 was approaching Bamber Bridge with a Preston to Colne service on June 4th 1982. The leading car, Driving Motor Second Lavatory M50528 was once part of three-car Manchester-Blackpool set, and still retained its white bodyside line from the days when it made countless journeys along the busy commuter route from the Fylde Coast to Manchester Victoria, until the 104's were ousted by cascaded Swindon built Class 120 units. Class 25 25133 was just visible to the right of the DMU, stood in the headshunt at the end of the goods loop/District Civil Engineers sidings. Martyn Hilbert.
A two-car Class 104 (thought to be M50528 leading) and two-car Met-Camm arrives into Bare Lane station on 27 August 1982. Lancaster is on the destination blind, likely on a service from Morecambe. Stuart Mackay Collection.

By this time the 104's had been displaced by 108's which in turn were being displaced by the new Sprinters, so this might well have been the last visit of a 104 to Buxton. Andrew J Crowther.
