On 7 September 1985, a derailment at Carnforth led to severe delays to trains between Scotland and England, resulting in this 6-car dmu formation running in the path of a the Glasgow / Dundee - Poole service between Birmingham and Reading. Seen at Oxford, closest is the distinct Class 116 set TS611 (53116/59611/53055). On the rear appears to be a 116/101/116 hybrid. On the right is a Class 121 bubble.
