A two-car Class 101/108 hybrid DMU formed of cars 54056 & 53949 was arriving at Rufford with an Ormskirk to Preston service on the evening of April 1st 1989. The Tarleton Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal was then a quiet little-used backwater. This location now has marinas either side of the canal, a footbridge, car parks and the railway is now obscured by trees.
