With its centre trailer car in blue/grey, a three-car BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53517, M59168 & M53464 was stood on the Up Fast at Leyland station with a Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service on October 11th 1986. Of the three individual cars, M53464 & M59168 were eventually scrapped, with M53517 surviving into preservation.
