Class 104 53461, set number 104 452, is seen stabled at Corkerhill on 25.05.1986. This was one of the few Class 104's to be painted into blue and grey, and was also one of the few Class 104's allocated to Scotland. Andy Cole.

A BRCW Class 104 two-car DMU formed of cars M50528 & M50454 was approaching Bamber Bridge with a Preston to Colne service on June 4th 1982. The leading car, Driving Motor Second Lavatory M50528 was once part of three-car Manchester-Blackpool set, and still retained its white bodyside line from the days when it made countless journeys along the busy commuter route from the Fylde Coast to Manchester Victoria, until the 104's were ousted by cascaded Swindon built Class 120 units. Class 25 25133 was just visible to the right of the DMU, stood in the headshunt at the end of the goods loop/District Civil Engineers sidings. Martyn Hilbert.
Norwich MPD allocated Set No.35 led by Class 104 DTCL E56186 awaits it's next duty at the North end of Cambridge Station. At the next Platform is sister Set No.46 led by Class 104 DTCL E56188 who also calls Norwich MPD home. E56186 would be withdrawn in February 1984 being scrapped by Vic Berry in their Leicester Yard 2 years later, while E56188 was withdrawn in February 1982 and was disposed of by Mayer Newman at their local Snailwell Yard in November of that year. Awaiting departure from Platform 4 at Glasgow Queen Street station on the 5th April 1985 is Ayr allocated Class 104 set 367 formed of DMCL 53510, TBSL 59210 & DMCL 53565. All arrived in Scotland from the Manchester area during early 1984. Their stay was fairly brief as all three were scrapped at Vic Berry's yard in Leicester during July 1986. Bob Woolnough.
