A Class 104 Two-Car set formed of cars M53466 & M53511 was departing from Croston with an Ormskirk to Preston service on March 28th 1984. This particular set was once a three-car that had a centre trailer composite car, along with a first class saloon at the leading end of M53511. As a three-car set it was one of the large fleet of 104's based at Newton Heath that had a white bodyside stripe, used mainly on Manchester Victoria to Blackpool North workings. Martyn Hilbert.

Winter light at Bamber Bridge on November 10th 1985, with a two-car BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53466 & M53511 with a Preston to Colne service. The set was finally withdrawn from Newton Heath Depot in 1989 and scrapped by Berry's of Leicester in 1990. Martyn Hilbert.
With a 'Not to be Moved' sign attached to one of the front lamp irons, a two-car BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53466 & M53511 was stabled in Croft Street Sidings adjacent to the Preston PSB on December 29th 1985. To the right is Class 127 parcel set 916. Martyn Hilbert.

Left to right, a BRCW Class 104 Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) M53466 was a the head of a four-car rake of 104's. Next to it was a Class 108 with DTSL M54256 against the block with Cravens Class 105 M53812 alongside. Just visible on the extreme right is ex Class 127 car M55970 in use as a parcels/mail/newspapers unit fitted with roller shutter doors. Despite appearances this was a shot over a low wire fence. Having just passed under the M6 Motorway, A Class 104/108 combo was approaching Bamber Bridge with a Colne to Preston service on April 10th 1982. The leading BRCW Class 104 set was formed of Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) M50467 & Driving Motor Composite Lavatory (DMCL) M50519. Both sets were complete with their first class saloons.
