A Swansea based Derby Class 108 power twin DMU, set S948 (presumably 53928 + 51565), heads for Crewe with a passenger service on the line from Salop Goods Junction, Crewe, on either the 8th or 9th December 1988. Seen from the cab of 37797, stood at Crewe Bank SB's outer home signal at the head of 6V07, the empty Cawoods service from Ellesmere Port to South Wales. The small LH signal are would eventually be cleared for me to enter the Up Goods Loop at Crewe bank. Paul James.

Class 108 DTSL 54271 is in the platform, the incoming four-car is an interesting mix of a Class 108 DMSL (51572), a Class 104 TSL (possibly 59206), a 115 TS (possibly 59735), and a Class 101 DMBS. Set BX371 stands at Buxton Station on 30/12/1988. Individual vehicle numbers were not noted at the time, but the leading car of this 3-car set is believed to be 53925 from the damage above the roller blind. The other cars are believed to be 59155 (centre) and 52039 (driving) Robert Hope.

New Year Eve 1988 sees a NSE class 108 DMU arriving at Ridgmont from Bedford. The Bedford Arms pub in the background, complete with a collection of car hub caps (!), closed in the mid-1990s and was later demolished. The station is actually in Husborne Crawley.
