A 2-car Class 108 DMU in lined green livery sits at Banbury Merton Street station with a service to Buckingham. The station had lost it's overall roof in the 1950's and it remained open to passengers until 1961. The site of the station is now a housing estate, although the portion of dock for the siding to the right of the DMU remained in situ until the housing estate was built in 2005. David Lawrence.

A Derby Works image (negative 59/240) showing the cab of one of their units, I'm guessing a Class 108. Taken circa spring 1959, the cab shows signs of use so it does not seem to be a new vehicle. Image courtesy of Diesel Unit Preservation Associates. British Railways.

A Class 108 seen at Chester Northgate just after arrival from Manchester Central via the CLC. This is most likely summer 1959; Northgate station still has an overall roof over platform 2, (and a steam train for Shotton or Wrexham is in it), and this was removed early in 1960. David Faircloth.
Two Blue Square Derby Lightweight DMUs at Abergele in North Wales, Llandudno seems to be on the destination blind. The slide is undated, the first of these vehicles with the 4-digit headcode was not delivered until 1960 and the underframe still has items in silver, so likely the 1960/1/2 period. Two Class 108 Two-Car sets crossing from the Down Fast to the Down Slow at Killingbeck (Leeds) so it can stop at Cross Gates station which only had platforms on the slow lines while working a Leeds to York train, not the best photo I've taken but it shows the layout and signals at Killingbeck box. 20 July 1961. A four-car Derby and four-car Met-Camm unit on an excursion from Morpeth at Reedsmouth in September 1961. The Hexham to Riccarton Junction line is to the left, with the Wansbeck Valley line to the right. Reedsmouth had closed to regular traffic in 1956, to close completely ten years later. Much of the station survives as a private residence. Image by Harry Townley, copyright of the Industrial Railway Society (HT-4118). Kevin Lane Collection.
