10th July 1979
On 10 July 1979, a class 108 diesel unit, built at Derby Works, is seen at Ravenglass heading for Barrow. On the platform next to the train can be seen a set of steps used to assist passengers in boarding from the low platform. Jeremy Chapter.

A pair of Class 108 2-car dmus approach Grange-over-Sands on a sunny day in late October 1979. I have no details of the actual date, or the numbers of the vehicles in shot. We were on a short break in Blackpool for half-term and had had a day in the lakes, stopping off at Grange for a swift pint and a walk along the promenade here. Lewis Bevan.
