The grounded body of Class 108 DTC M56229 and the remains of Sulzer type 2 D5028 in sidings west of Chester Railway Station on Sunday 28 May 1972. They had been damaged in the major crash, explosion and fire at Chester Railway Station on the 8th May caused by a runaway tanker train. In the background is Brook Street (A56) and "Loyds of Chester" Hotel. Ian 10B.

A Class 108 DMU with 54230 closest and 53947 had recessed onto the stub of the Hayfield branch to the otherwise disused tunnel at New Mills Central whilst an express passes, it now returns to the station to form the next local service to Manchester Piccadilly, 27-10-84. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.

A 2-Car Class 108 with M54231 leading calls at the rural West Lancashire outpost of Hoscar whilst working a Manchester Victoria to Southport service on October 4th 1986. The station has staggered platforms either side of Hoscar Moss Road and is surrounded by open countryside. Martyn Hilbert.

With the WCML in the background and the route to Southport in the foreground, Class 108 DMU sets were Sunday resting in the Up sidings adjacent to Wigan Wallgate Junction on November 2nd 1986. Complete with a Greater Manchester PTE emblem behind the cab door the nearest car was DMSL 54232. An image taken in more-relaxed BR days when a polite request to local P.Way staff gave access to such locations. Martyn Hilbert.
