A Class 108 DMU formed of 54231 + 53948 at Chester on 13 July 1983. They were allocated to Longsight at the time. Taken by John Vaughan. Stuart Mackay Collection.

4th October 1986

A 2-Car Class 108 with M54231 leading calls at the rural West Lancashire outpost of Hoscar whilst working a Manchester Victoria to Southport service on October 4th 1986. The station has staggered platforms either side of Hoscar Moss Road and is surrounded by open countryside. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 108 Derby 2-car DMU set CH256, presumably 54231 + 51901, and a sister arrived at Keighley with 'The Bronte Flyer' charter from Chester 13-5-89. On Tour With The Class 13 Army.

CH256 (presumably 54231 + 51901) was a Chester-based 2-car Class 108 dmu photographed at Bagworth and Ellistown on 11 June 1989 forming a shuttle service to Leicester to ferry punters to and from the Open Day at Coalville. Lewis Bevan.

2nd November 1986

With the WCML in the background and the route to Southport in the foreground, Class 108 DMU sets were Sunday resting in the Up sidings adjacent to Wigan Wallgate Junction on November 2nd 1986. Complete with a Greater Manchester PTE emblem behind the cab door the nearest car was DMSL 54232. An image taken in more-relaxed BR days when a polite request to local P.Way staff gave access to such locations. Martyn Hilbert.

On the 17th June 1980 56234 and 50955 are seen being dragged through Carnforth station by 25 209. Jerry Glover.

Derby Litchurch Lane on the 26th September 1982. On the right in blue-grey is Class 108 DTC M56234. In the centre is a 101 TBS and a 127 DMBS, both in plain blue. Part of a 100 DTC can be seen on the far left, with it's solebar painted white! Ian Francis.

A Derby Class 108 two-car DMU formed of cars M54235 & M53951 was stood at Morecambe Promenade with the Morecambe to Lancaster shuttle service on March 27th 1992. The once busy and extensive former Midland Railway sea-front terminus closed on February 7th 1994. Martyn Hilbert.
