6th September 1986

A long time resident of Bradford Hammerton Street Depot for use on services between Manchester Victoria and Leeds via Bradford, along the old L&Y Calder Valley Main Line, E51822 was working as part of a 2-Car set, seeing out its last days from Newton Heath when photographed on the 6th September 1986. Dating from 1961, the car was bringing up the rear of a Southport to Manchester Victoria Service, along with a 2-Car Class 104 set, calling at the staggered platforms of Hoscar Station. A busy period at Leeds on 15 May 1984, in the centre on Platform 5 is Class 43 No E43109 with a train for London Kings Cross on the right on Platform 7 Class 110 No E51825 has just arrived with a train from Sheffield via Barnsley, and on the left on Platform 5A is Class 141/0 No 55507 with a train from Huddersfield.
