A long time resident of Bradford Hammerton Street Depot for use on services between Manchester Victoria and Leeds via Bradford, along the old L&Y Calder Valley Main Line, E51822 was working as part of a 2-Car set, seeing out its last days from Newton Heath when photographed on the 6th September 1986. Dating from 1961, the car was bringing up the rear of a Southport to Manchester Victoria Service, along with a 2-Car Class 104 set, calling at the staggered platforms of Hoscar Station.
