Two years after the closure of the Woodhead route, the overhead electrification gantries are still standing at Woodburn Junction, east of Sheffield Victoria, and where the line into Tinsley Yard diverged from the main route to Rotherwood. Here a newly-refurbished two car Class 114 DMU passes on a Sheffield-bound service that has probably come from Lincoln. The view here is very different today. There is still a junction, with a line diverging to Tinsley, but the track layout has been simplified somewhat and there is substantially more greenery around! Andrew Walker.
