A Class 114 dmu leaves the station in the direction of Market Rasen, while Class 08 no. 08102 stands on one of the through roads. On the right can be seen 31203 and 37106 in the bay platforms. A Derby Heavyweight class 114 DMU set is seen crossing Mexborough East Junction with train 2R09 the 09.42 Sheffield Midland to Cleethorpes. The line to the right being the once busy freight route via Wath marshalling yard which lost its importance with the closure of the Woodhead route across the Pennines. Adrian Nicholls.
A Derby Heavyweight class 114 dmu stands on the freight only line, where the remains of Shirebrook station is, with one of the Shirebrook-Worksop Open Day shuttles on 5th June 1987. This line reopened to passengers as a through route again between Nottingham and Worksop in 1998 and is branded as the Robin Hood Line. Andrew J Crowther.

This line that the train is on reopened to passengers as a through route again between Nottingham and Worksop in 1998 and is branded as the Robin Hood Line, the line off to the right lead eventually to High Marnham Power station, as well as serving the many many collieries on the way, which have now all gone. Keith has noted Class 105 Departmental DMU TDB977453, DMUs 53026, 54026, 54039 and 53005 in this view of Lincoln depot on 12 July 1987. In the platform on the left are the two departmental 100s: 975539 + 975349 and 975637 + 975664; it looks like the Cravens is next in that line, presumably its partner is 977454. Keith Miller.

On 14 May 1988 it was quite easy to walk around the slightly derelict-looking Washwood Heath area and take pictures of anything that came along. One of the bagful of slides I shot during the morning was this of a class 114 DMU as it worked ECS from Tyseley and about to pass Washwood Heath No5 signalbox. Peter Tandy.
