A Derby suburban triple set seen north of Wood End during August 1964. DMS M50884 is closest carrying set number 330, the M prefix is different shade from the numerals in the vehicle number after being changed from a W after the boundary changes, and it carries a 2A shedplate on the solebar just to the left of the drivers stepboard. Derby suburban triple set 304 seen at Widney Manor with a Leamington service in early August 1964. DMBS 50059 leads, presumably with 59004 + 50104. The set would become TY504 and then TS504, retaining the same vehicles until 1983 when Class 127 TSL 59610 replaced 59004 as a means of reducing the number of vehicles containing asbestos. Seen at Evesham in August 1964, the photographer has noted this as a Worcester - Stratford-upon-Avon service despite the Leamington destination blind. It is formed of set 304 with N50059 leading. Michael Mensing.

Many (but not all) of the Tyseley set numbers in this period matched the last two digits of the centre car, in this case 59027. By the end of the sixties a 5xx number series was used, often just switching the 3 to a 5, this set becoming TY527. Michael Mensing.
