Refurbished Class 116 DMU set C311 (presumably 50895 + 59350 + 50842) passes Kidderminster Junction signalbox on 7 August 1976. It is displaying 'Special' on the destination blind but Michael recorded the train as the 16:50 Hereford - Birmingham New Street. Michael Mensing.

Freshly painted W50843 in Cardiff Central with a Valleys service on 18 September 1976. It has a refurbished date of 27 August but its centre car 59355 was not completed till 10 September which is probably why it still looks so fresh. Robert Thomas.

It is passing under a Taff Vale Railway overbridge that used to take miners over the railway between Treorchy to the colliery that is now the site of Treorchy Comprehensive School.
