Set: L417
NSE-liveried L417 at Oxford on the 16th April 1991. DMS 51396 has a replacement front end from Class 116 C319, the other two vehicles are presumably 59506 and 51354. Mike Cooper.

Set: T305
Tyseley allocated Class 117 set no.T305 formed of DMBS W51368, TCL W59520 and DMS W51410, painted in GWR brown and cream colour scheme, leave Platform 4 at Crewe Station with a service for Nottingham Midland via Derby on the 20th April 1991. After withdrawl in the late 90's both power cars were scrapped at MC Metals, Glasgow, W51368 in April 1999 and W51410 in September of the same year while the centre trailer vehicle was preserved and can be found on the Dartmoor Railway, Devon. Set: T311
Class 117 DMU T311 (presumably 51376 + 59500 + 51334) were pictured arriving at Stratford-upon-Avon with an early afternoon train from Leamington Spa on 26 April 1991. The signalling arrangements had recently been changed here with a new starting signal for platform 2 and alterations to the point locking arrangements for the exit from platform 1 meaning that trains were able to depart directly from there, under the control of the tall starter, rather having to shunt to P2. Trains were still not able to arrive directly into P2, this not being possible until later signalling changes when control was shifted to the West Midlands Signalling Centre at Saltley. Peter Tandy.

Tyseley's dmu set T315 (power cars presumably 51352 + 51394) departs smokily northwards from Stratford station with a Birmingham service to the total indifference of the crowds on the platforms. They were there to see and ride behind GWR King 6024 or BR Standard 8 71000 on a steam special, as I was. Pete LG99.

Class 117 DMU T311 formed of 51376 + 59500 + 51334 was photographed arriving at Stratford-upon-Avon with an afternoon service from Birmingham in July 1991. Most of the infrastructure in the background has gone and there isn't an equivalent shot worth the effort in 2022. Peter Tandy.

As the sun stayed out at Stratford-upon-Avon after T311 (51334 + 59500 + 51376) had arrived from Birmingham in July 1991 I took another shot as it stood under the GWR footbridge. Class 150 Sprinters were regularly appearing here by this time and T311 wasn't showing as allocated to Tyseley later in the year. Peter Tandy.

The class 101 unit (T078, 51249 + 53146) fitted nicely between various posts at the end of Stratford-upon-Avon's platform 2 on 1 July 1991. It was working with T310 (presumably 51373 + 59486 + 51415). The scene has changed a lot since this photograph was taken in that the gasholders have been demolished, the semaphore signals have been replaced with electric lights (twice) and a white paling fence has been erected to deter trespassers from getting onto the line.
