Class 309 EMUs 309 616 and 309 613 are seen in Watford Junction station on 10 May 1998 with 1A41, the 11.30 Manchester Piccadilly-Euston. Alongside is Class 117 51354 of set L720, possibly on an ECS to Bletchley. At the time it was not uncommon to have them work the last/first trains Sat/Sun during overnight possessions. Dave Warby.

With the shunt signal cleared, NSE class 117 set L721 formed 51405 & 51363 trails L706 (51408 & 51366) out of Bletchley station to the carriage sidings. Robert Chilton.

Unusually in the South Central side of Clapham Junction (Platform 16) class 117 set L721 (51363 & 51405) are working on the West London service to Willesden Junction in August 1995. Ian Buck.
Trains from Bletchley to Bedford formerly terminated at St Johns station (see below). When the original St Johns was closed on 14 May 1984 Bletchley trains were diverted into Bedford Midland station via a connecting curve from the Bletchley line. My photo shows a train on this connecting curve on 4 January 1997. The train is composed of Class 117 vehicles 51363+51405 and is standing at the "new" St Johns station (hidden by the train in my photo), which is a simple single platform. The site of the "original" St Johns station is just beyond the houses to the left of the dmu. Lewis Bevan.
