At this time a strike meant that the few trains running on the Brighton Line were a bit of a mixed bag. This is seen as a 6-car Brighton to London Bridge train leaves Redhill in June 1982 with class 119 car 51063 on set L577 (presumably with 59422 + 51091). Ian Buck.
Occasionally the Reading Gatwick service was diverted via the West London and Brighton Main Line owing to trackworks. On 1st April 1984 Class 119 set L577 with car 51063 leading (presumably with 59422 + 51091) passes Coulsdon North. Ian Buck.

Hawksworth vehicle W7804W has been inserted into a GRCW Cross-Country set (formed W51064 + W59423 + W51092) (with a Swindon Cross-Country at the rear). The train is the 3.45pm Oxford - Paddington seen at Didcot on the 22nd September 1961. Michael Mensing.
Two Cross-Country DMUs in the bay platforms at the south end of Shrewsbury station. On the right is a three-car GRC&W set, DMBC W51064 closest with 'Excursion' on the destination blind, it was allocated to Bristol. On the left is a two-car Swindon set from the third batch with the four-character route indicator. It has a headlamp fitted for the Central Wales line, in is period circa late 1960s Canton only had two sets from this batch of vehicles, both transferred from Reading in May 1969 and moving on to Bristol in April 1970. These vehicles is believed to be 51583 + 51574, allocated CTN603, so 502 could have been their Reading set number. Graham Clark.
