A Cross-Country Class 120 DMU in the bay platform of Truro station ready for its next trip to Falmouth. W51590 is closest, presumably with long term partners W59582 + W51576. Noted as taken sometime in 1974, yet the set was allocated to Bristol that year. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A Class 120 on the crossing at Narborough in late summer 1975. The barriers seem to out of use, a rope can just be seen across the road and a member of staff standing towards the right. Michael Mensing.

Two Swindon Cross-Country Class 120 DMUs at the north end of the old St Devereux station on 6 April 1974, probably on a Crewe-Cardiff service. The centre car still has an active buffet, with 'Buffet' on the bodyside and red stripe. George Woods.

A class 120 dmu departing Inverness for Aberdeen on 08-04-1974. An everyday sight from 1960 to 1980, seven 3 car class 120 sets were based at Inverness for the direct service to Aberdeen. Also seen on the branches of the old Great North of Scotland Railway in Aberdeenshire and Banffshire until Dr. Beeching put a stop to that. Gordon Thomson.

Picture quality isn't very good but this has rarity value. It's the first and only time I ever saw a Swindon cross country DMU (power cars 50737 + 50667, seems to be EP585) at Reading which according to the destination blind was on a special, as expected (possibly a 'Explore Britain' adex). Also the discarded GWR ATC ramp between the down main and the through line and the up main and through line. At this time there were very few of them left as they were being replaced by the standard BR AWS, a brand new one can be seen on the through line. 23rd April 1974. 54A South Dock.
