Conversion work on 55020 at LH Plant on 5 February 2003. This is the bulkhead between the guards van and the passenger saloon through the doorway to the right. It holds a mixture of original and new equipment. From left to right can be seen a microphone for the PA, the red switch will be for the light in the ceiling, the silver panels has an on and off button for the passenger saloon lights, and a 'budget' key switch in the model which would turn all the lights on or off on a train if the vehicle was coupled to others. Underneath the new white box is a TPWS buzzer, the new open boxes are probably for the new door locks (magnets) and above is the fire bell. Stuart Mackay.
