"The biggest unstaffed halt in Britain" Snow Hill in 1972 was a massive car park, the only piece of railway was the remnant Birmingham - Wolverhampton service. Here in February '72 Class 122 Gloucester R.C & W built single car unit (set TY055, presumably M55010) waits to depart for Wolverhampton Low Level. Geoff Dowling.
I think my father was photographing these services in conjunction with the closure of Birmingham Snow Hill. In this one a Tyseley single car DMU TY055 (presumably 55010) is seen in Snow Hill waiting to leave on the 16.58 to Langley Green. The KDH Archive.
I think my father was photographing these services in conjunction with the closure of Birmingham Snow Hill. In this one two Tyseley single car DMU's are seen in Snow Hill, one is waiting to leave on the 16.58 to Langley Green (TY055, right, presumably 55010) and the other has arrived at 16.57 from Wolverhampton. Date is 3rd March 1972. The KDH Archive.

A lone Class 122 (set TY055, presumably M55010) is about to leave Birmingham Snow Hill in February 1972. At this time Snow Hill was a gigantic car park with just this one bay operating an infrequent service to Wolverhampton Low Level. The route is fairly similar to that taken by the Midland Metro, the Wolverhampton end is now street running to a new terminus at St Georges. Geoff Dowling.
A GRC&W single car DMU in Wolverhampton Low Level station in the early 1970s. The set number TY055 in the cab window means it should be M55010. Graham Clark.
Gloucester RC&W double-ender W55011 at Staines West. Date unknown, it was a Southall vehicle from new in mid-1958 until moving to Laira by mid-1961. Stuart Mackay Collection.
55011 at Kilmarnock, waiting to depart with the 1:58pm to Ayr, 10th June 1968. Hamish Stevenson.
On a rainy day at Kilmarnock Class 122 55011 runs into the bay platform, probably on a service from (or to form a service to) Ayr. Already in the platform is 55000, still with a W prefix. There's no yellow on the cab side, so it's carrying blue livery with small yellow panel. Circa 1969. Stuart Rankin.
Class 122 55011 seen in Ayr station on a service from Kilmarnock, circa 1969. Stuart Rankin.
Class 122 55011 at Barassie, where the line from Kilmarnock joins the main Glasgow to Ayr line (thanks to "Mad Mac" for identifying the location). Circa 1969. Stuart Rankin.
Three Class 122 bubbles in three liveries in the bay platforms at Kilmarnock, circa 1969. At the time they were used on services to Ayr. 55011 is closest, the green unit on the left is 55013, behind is 55000 carrying blue livery with a small yellow panel. Stuart Rankin.
A Class 122 in Aberdeen station presumably attached to one (or more?) Class 120s on an Inverness service. This is thought to be circa early 1973, the only 122 at that time in the area would be 55011. Note what seems to be two "coach" ("roof"?) boards on the right, one reading "Evening Express - Lifeline Final", the other "G.C.O. Railway & Transport Society". John McIntyre.
Gloucester Class 122 DMBS, SC55011, waits it next working on Inverness depot. 8th April 1977. Paul James.
