On the underframe is a paint date of 8-6-60 and a varnish date of 11-6-60. It would be allocated new to Neville Hill on 6-7-60. Note that the vacuum bags still have to be fitted. British Railways.

Class 124 Trans-Pennine buffet car E59779 (and E59775) on Hull Botanic Gardens depot, 6 May 1976. It had been withdrawn the previous October but would not be scrapped for another five years. Brian Daniels.
